Here’s the exact steps:

  1. Locate the folder you want to hide through Windows Explorer and copy the folder address from the address bar. You can copy the folder address by Right-click on the address bar and select Copy address.
  2. After copying the folder address, open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges by pressing (Windows key) + X and click on Command Prompt (Admin) from the pop-up menu.
  3. When the Command Prompt opened, type the below command and hit ↵Enter key:

    attrib +s +h "C:\Users\XXXX\XXXX"

Replace C:\Users\XXXX\XXXX with the folder address you copied in step 1, which can be done by Right-click on that place and select Paste.

After that, your folder should be gone completely, even Windows Explorer search will not detect the folder. If you ever need to access the folder later, then use the above command, but this time use “-” instead of “+” signs. For example, your command should look like the command below:

attrib -s -h "C:\Users\XXXX\XXXX"

Remember to replace C:\Users\XXXX\XXXX with the folder address.

With this simple trick, you can completely hide your folder instead of making it as “Hidden.” However, this method is not 100% secure, anyone will be able to bypass it if they know the setting to tweak. This method can be great to hide sensitive information, like pictures planning documents, etc.
