Follow the simple steps below to learn how to share Android apps through WhatsApp.
- Locate the Apk file you want to send using an advanced file manager like ES File Explorer. If you don’t have it, then download it from the Play Store (link below).
- When you located the Apk file, long-press on it and tap Rename option to rename it.
- Change the extension of the file from apk to doc. For example, if the file is My App.apk then you should rename it to My App.doc and tap OK button.
- Long-press the renamed file and navigate to share options, then select WhatsApp.
- When WhatsApp opens, choose your friends or any of your groups which you want to send, and the file should be sent.
When the file is successful sent and your friend received it, you can change the file extension back to Apk.
Installation Guide
When you’ve received an Apk file from WhatsApp, then you’ll need to follow the steps below to install it.
- Download the file like any other media files and wait until the download process is finished.
- Once the file is downloaded, go to your phone’s Settings and tap on Security, then place a checkmark next to Unknown sources option.
- After that, launch any file manager and find WhatsApp folder and locate to Media > WhatsApp Documents.
- Here, you’ll see a file with doc extension, just long-press on it and select Rename option to rename it.
- Change the extension of the file from doc to apk and apply changes by pressing OK button.
- Tap the renamed Apk file to install on your Android device, then tap on Install button and your device should begin the installation process.
